So, who wants to buy an old antique barometer? Predicting the weather is a multi million pound industry and you only have to look at the dismal results from the BBC weather team to see how tricky it is! Barometers work by measuring atmospheric pressure (that's a very simple expanation!) There are different types of barometers, you can get water based barometers, mercury barometers and aneroid barometers. A barometer is a great eye catching piece to display in your home, and given that we British are completely obesessed with talking about the weather, they're a great conversation piece. It's just a shame you can't get a barometer that measures house prices.
